NEWARK, Del. - The Lafayette women's lacrosse team fell at Delaware 11-6 on Wednesday night. Meghan Curtin made 13 saves in goal for the Leopards, as they moved to 0-2 on the season. Ana White led the way offensively for Lafayette with a goal and an assist.

The Leopards jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with 25 minutes to play in the first half, as Amanda Case buried her free position attempt past the Delaware goalie. The Blue Hens answered back a minute later with a pair of quick goals to take a 2-1 advantage.

At the 8:54 mark of the opening frame, Laura Kleiber found the back of the net for the Leopards, tying the game at two. The Blue Hens tallied two goals in the final three minutes and went into the break with a 4-2 lead over Lafayette.

The Maroon and White came out of halftime firing, as White found Charlotte Avallone just nine seconds into the period to cut the lead to one, 4-3. Less than five minutes later the Leopards knotted the game at four, when Kirsten Wilhelmsen tallied her third goal of the season.

The Blue Hens' Caitlin McCartney tallied a goal with 22:35 on the clock to give Delaware a 5-4 advantage. Delaware pushed its lead to four, 8-4, on a pair of goals from McCartney with ten minutes to play.

With less than six minutes to play, White got her first goal of the season, and Katie Elander beat the Delaware goalie to make it an 11-6 game. The Blue Hens went on to beat the Leopards 11-6.

Lafayette returns to action Saturday afternoon when the Maroon and White visit Wagner at 1 p.m.
