ARLINGTON, Va. - Lafayette dropped game two of the doubleheader to George Washington 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in an extra inning affair. Freshman Nick Murray had three base hits in the loss.

With the score deadlocked at zero entering the bottom of the 10th inning, the Colonials were able to plate to winning run due to three costly Leopard errors. The first batter of the inning reached on an error by pitcher Ari Kaufman who then was able to reach third on a fielder's choice and a throwing error by catcher Parker Hills.

With runners on the corners with no one out, Joey Bartosic of GW was walked intentionally to set up the bases loaded no one out situation. Connor McMahon came on in relief of Kaufman. He was able to get Colin Gibbons-Fly to ground into a fielder's choice, however, an error by first baseman Tim Lazor allowed the game-winning run to cross the plate.

Mitch Leeds went 6.2 innings of shutout ball in the loss. He scattered five hits while walking two and striking out one. Kaufman pitched 2.1 of solid relief before running into trouble in the 10th frame.

Lafayette (1-4) threatened in the third with runners on second and third and two outs but the Colonials were able to get out of the jam. The Maroon & White's had another opportunity in the top of the ninth, when the Leopards had first and second with just one out. After a Lazor flyout advanced Andrew Landolfi to third and a defensive indifference allowed Andrew Santomauro to move to second, the Leopards had second and third with two outs with Hills coming to the plate. Hills, however, fouled out to the Colonials first baseman to end the inning.

Lafayette and George Washington complete their three-game series tomorrow with first pitch scheduled for noon.
