Lehigh Games Results

Bethlehem, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team finished its regular season slate at the Lehigh Games Saturday on the campus of Lehigh University. The event had no team scoring.

The men had a pair of first place finishes, one on the track and one in the field. Kevin Smith and Derrick Hargwood gave the Leopards a 1-2 finish in the 800 meter run. Smith's 1:55.19 garnered the victory, while Hargwood's 1:56.80 made him the runner up. Sophomore Colton Mitchell set the standard in the pole vault reaching a height of 4.55 meters (14'11"). On the women's side, junior Grace Watters finished in second place in the 1500 meter run at 4:44.56, just 0.3 seconds behind first place.

Junior Brendan Harney complemented Mitchell in the pole vault with a fourth place finish. The New York native flew to a height of 4.25 meters (13' 11 ¼")

Juannell Riley threw himself to a fourth place finish in the hammer throw with a 50.54 meter (165'10") flight. Rookie Patrick Corcoran tied for sixth place with a 48.62 (156'6") toss.

Alex Van Hoof brought home a fourth place finish in the javelin following his 48.97 (160'8") chuck.

On the oval, Andrew Morra crossed the finish line at 4:04.41 in the 1500 meter run for a fifth place finish.

Sophmore Sarah Talmadge matched Watters' runner-up finish in the shot put as she recorded an 11.18 meter (36'8 ¼") heave. The Newark, N.J. native also registered a distance of 43.42 meters (142'5") in the hammer throw.

Bridgette Meloro and Mara Blanchard each posted five place finishes in the field. Meloro cleared the 1.50 meter (4'11") mark in the high jump to finished tied for the position, as Blanchard's bar clearing 3.20 meter (10'6") height gave her sole possession of fifth.

Freshman Tessa Broholm cleared the 400 meter hurdles in 1:05.36 to finish fourth.

The Maroon and White turn their attention to next weekend's Patriot League Championships to be held in Annapolis, Md.
