LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lafayette swimming and diving teams continued their march toward the Patriot League Championships, competing in the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday.
Junior Robert Lowery enjoyed a strong performance, claiming a second place in the 100 freestyle in a time of 47.68. He also finished seventh in the 50 free in 22.43.
Lafayette had a solid day in the distance freestyle events. Freshman Nick Whiteman captured second place in the 1650 free in 17:13.32 while junior Tom St. Vincent finished third in 17:33.11. In the women's 1650 free, sophomore Shoshana Hodes was fifth in 18:55.47, followed by freshman Celia Randall in sixth (18:55.73) and senior Ashley Kunow in eighth (19:03.43).
Senior Jane Kuntz finished fourth in the 100 butterfly (59.99) while freshman Isabella Walko was seventh in the 200 (2:18.25).
Freshman Sydney Wight placed fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:00.26) and seventh in the 50 free (25.03). Senior Megan Kaveney took home fifth place in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.27) and a fourth-place finish in the 50 free (24.76).
The Leopards next competition is the Patriot League Championships Feb. 18 -21 at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.
