LEWISBURG, Pa. - Day two of the Patriot League championships saw Lafayette break another school record as the women's 200 free relay team set a new mark of 1:36.06.
Senior Megan Kaveney, junior Caroline Kearney, freshman Sydney Wight and senior Jane Kuntz paced the team to an eighth-place finish in the 13th event of the championship. The previous record (White, Geary, Nehrbass and Kaczka) was set in 2007 in 1:36.28.
The Lafayette men also took eighth place in the 200 yard free relay. Seniors Robert Lowery and Evan Newbold swam the lead and anchor legs, respectively and freshman Xavier Laracuente and junior Christopher Wickwire finished in 1:24.14.
At the end of day two, the Lafayette men rest in seventh place while the Lafayette women sit in eighth place of 10 teams.
"Tomorrow should be a big day for us," said Lafayette head coach Jim Dailey. "We are seeded well in the 100 stroke events and 400 medley relay."
