Lafayette Swimming Captures CSCAA Scholar All-American Award

March 23, 2015

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette's men and women's swimming and diving teams have earned the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Team Scholar All-American Award.

The award is presented to college swimming and diving teams which have achieved a team grade-point average of 3.0 or better. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester and again in the spring to recognize teams achieving a 3.0 in the semester coinciding with the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

"In the beginning of each semester the teams sit down and decide what our goals are. Each year at least one of the goals is to stay Scholar All Americans," said Lafayette head coach Jim Dailey. "The student-athletes work very hard throughout our seven-month season to attain this goal. It's rewarding when they achieve that goal while obtaining many of their athletic goals."

Since 1992, the women have been named Scholar All Americans 44 of 45 semesters while the men have been named Scholar All Americans 38 of 45 semesters.

The Lafayette women turned in a 3.30 team GPA while the men posted a 3.25 team GPA.
