SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Junior Ben Marks sent a free kick into the upper left corner of the net in the 48th minute and the Lafayette men's soccer team went on to play to a draw in 110 minutes of action at Bryant on Sunday afternoon.

Marks' tally marks his third straight game with a point for the Maroon and White in four games this season. He leads the Leopards offensively with a goal and three assists for five points on the year and his mark Sunday helped keep Lafayette undefeated with a 2-0-2 overall record.

The game was aggressive from the start as the Bulldogs' Brett Larocque pushed across the first score in the 21st minute. Dribbling down the right side, he was able to beat a defender and then finish low past Lafayette sophomore goalkeeper Brad Seeber for the opening tally.

Bryant held the edge in shots, 5-3, in the opening half, but Lafayette seemed to create more chances as corners were 4-1 in the Leopards' favor. Nothing else found the net in the final 24 minutes of the first stanza as the game moved into the break with the score at 1-0.

It took just over two minutes for the Leopards to level the game as a foul deep in Bryant territory set up a free kick just outside the box. Marks sent a curling shot into the upper left corner to knot the game.

Neither team would find a deciding tally throughout the second half or in either 10-minute session of overtime as the game finished a 1-1 draw.

Seeber made just one save on the afternoon, while Bryant goalkeeper Chris Knaub stopped two Leopard shots on goal. Shots finished at 10-7 in the Bulldogs' favor, while corners and fouls were deadlocked at 5 and 15 apiece, respectively.

The Leopards travel to St. Francis Brooklyn on Wednesday to battle the Terriers at 7 p.m.
