Field Hockey Holds Annual Career Networking Event

March 14, 2016

PHILADELPHIA - Lafayette field hockey held its third-annual career networking event at The Union League in Philadelphia last week, with 17 alumnae attending to discuss career opportunities with current team members.

Alumnae from the Class of 1980 through the Class of 2014 discussed their jobs in a wide variety of fields, including medical, business, law, pharmaceuticals, engineering and more. The team was additionally treated to a tour of the historic Union League by Jim and Tina Gula P'14, Friends of Field Hockey Executive Committee members who hosted the event.

"This event is always one of my favorites," head coach Jennifer Stone said. "It is a unique event because everyone truly wants to attend and help others succeed. Being a part of any team is more than just a four-year experience, and I would like to thank all of our alumnae who returned to share their expertise in each of their respective industries. Their involvement is so important to the continuing growth of our program."

"My favorite part of the event was seeing the amount of alumnae who came out to support the Lafayette Field Hockey family," junior defender Aliza Furneaux added. "I enjoyed reconnecting with players I'd previously played with and getting to connect with new alumnae based on our mutual interest in Civil Engineering. The team really appreciated all of the alumnae who took the time to come and advise us on our careers."
