CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Katelyn Arnold and freshman Lisa van der Geest received Patriot League Player of the Week honors, as announced by the conference on Tuesday afternoon. Arnold was tabbed the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, while van der Geest received Defensive Player of the Week laurels.

It was a busy three-game week for the Leopards as they faced off against Hofstra and a pair of nationally-ranked opponents in No. 9 Boston U. and No. 12 Delaware.

The Leopards had Rappolt Field rocking on Friday night in the first conference game of the 2016 season, where Arnold shined while protecting the cage. After Lafayette grabbed a one-goal lead in the opening stanza, Arnold sent away a pair of shots by the Terriers to keep the Maroon and White on top.

Boston U. managed to score late in the second half extending the game into overtime, but in the two overtime periods, the senior goalkeeper made a pair of diving saves to keep the score even and force a shootout.

With the pressure on, Arnold hung tough and denied back-to-back shots by the Terriers, setting up fellow senior Aliza Furneaux for the game-winner.

In the other two games during the week, Arnold tallied nine total saves, including a season-high six against Hofstra.

Freshman defender Lisa van der Geest began the week by assisting on the Leopards' first goal against Hofstra on the road. When the Leopards returned to College Hill on Friday night for their conference tilt against the No. 9-ranked Terriers, she logged a full 100 minutes and was a key cog on the defensive end, helping push Lafayette to a 2-1 conference victory.

To cap off the week, the freshman caged Lafayette's lone goal of the game against No. 12 Delaware.

The Leopards will resume Patriot League play when head on the road to Hamilton, N.Y. for their next matchup against Colgate on Saturday at 11 a.m.
