EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette defensive end Collin Albershardt has been selected to the 2016 Football Championship Subdivision Athletics Directors Association (FCS ADA) Academic All-Star Team announced on Friday afternoon.
Albershardt makes his second-consecutive appearance on the team, having earned the honor along with CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2015 and 2016. This season Albershardt finished with 33 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and two quarterback hurries. The team captain carries a 3.61 GPA as an Economics major and was an Academic All-Patriot League selection his final two campaigns.
The FCS ADA All-Star team is made up of 44 student-athletes from FCS programs around the nation. To be eligible, student-athletes must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate study, who are also starters or key players with legitimate athletic credentials. A review committee of FCS athletic directors was responsible for selecting the team.
