EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette football coaching staff, under the direction of head coach John Troxell and first-year recruiting coordinator Anthony Johnson, has added 12 signees on National Signing Day as part of the 2025-26 recruiting class. Seventeen future Leopards are members of the Class of 2030 while the staff also bolstered its playing ranks with three transfer student-athletes, who are already enrolled for the spring semester.
Positionally, the class includes five defensive backs, five offensive linemen, three defensive linemen, two linebackers and two wide receivers, along with a quarterback, a running back and a tight end.
The Leopards, who are coming off an 8-4 campaign and a second-place finish in the Patriot League standings, turned their early focus to the offensive line, looking to reinforce the league's most consistent running attack. Lafayette has produced a 1000-yard rusher each of the last three campaigns. The incoming offensive line group will include four freshmen and a transfer.
"Today is always an exciting day because we add the future to our program. Our staff did a tremendous job searching the entire country to find student-athletes that fit Lafayette," said Troxell, the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach. "These 20 young men who join our football family will have the experience of a lifetime, being able to excel at academics and athletics at a liberal arts college that ranks in the top 30 in the country and a football program that has ranked in the top 25 each of the last three seasons."
The most recent signings are part of Lafayette's 13th scholarship recruiting class in the Patriot League era. The group currently includes student-athletes from high schools in 13 states: Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin. The Lonestar State featured prominently in the class, as eight of the signees call Texas home.
Lafayette will continue to solidify its recruiting class in the coming months, leading up to its August training camp, with at least six student-athletes to be announced later in the month. The Spring football season begins March 24 with the Maroon and White Spring Showcase set for 11 a.m. on April 25 at Fisher Stadium. The regular season is slated to kick off on Aug. 29 at Georgetown.
