EASTON, Pa. -- A group of dedicated Lafayette alumni has contributed $1 million to establish
the Leopard Champions Fund, a general scholarship initiative for Lafayette athletics. The announcement was made on Friday night at the conclusion of the Maroon Club Hall of Fame Dinner.
"The importance of scholarships in collegiate athletics cannot be overstated, as it is crucial to our athletic program's success," said Lafayette Director of Athletics Bruce McCutcheon. "We are appreciative of the generosity of our alumni in establishing and contributing to the Leopard Champions Fund."
"We hope to use this initial investment by our alumni as a springboard for future growth in the number of scholarships provided to student-athletes," said Maroon Club President Paulo Coelho '03. "We have no doubt that the efforts of our loyal alumni will help this scholarship fund to grow in the future for the benefit of the entire Lafayette athletic program."
