McCrae Williams, a freshman on the Lafayette College men's lacrosse team, died late Monday. His parents were with him.
In a message to the campus community on Tuesday, Sept. 12, Lafayette President Alison Byerly said:
I am terribly saddened to share the news of the passing of McCrae Williams, a student in the Class of 2021. We extend our deepest sympathies to McCrae's family and friends.
Losing a member of the Class of 2021 is a heartbreaking start to the year for our newest students in particular. I hope that the support of the community will be helpful to all at this very sad time.
