- Lafayette enters its first Patriot League Tournament since 2015 this weekend as the four seed despite finishing in a tie for second in the Patriot League standings. The tiebreaker with Bucknell and American fell the Eagles' way as the two seed, while Bucknell secured the three seed after defeating the Leopards this past weekend. The Maroon and White take on top-seeded Boston U., with the winner to face Bucknell or American in the championship game on Sunday at noon in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The first meeting between the Leopards and Terriers this season was an offensive affair with 11 goals recorded between the two sides in a 7-4 Boston U. victory. Lafayette jumped ahead early by a 1-0 score, but the Terriers ripped off a six-goal run over a 25-minute stretch through the halftime break that put the visiting lead at five, 6-1. Three straight tallies from the Maroon and White off the sticks of
Sam Di Maio,
Caroline Turnbull and
Theresa Delahanty got the Leopards back in the game late, but a seventh score from Boston U.'s Molly Rottinghaus secured the victory for the visitors.
- Lafayette has had recent success against Boston U., despite the Terriers' perennially strong outfit. The Leopards knocked off Boston U. in 2016 when the Terriers were ranked ninth nationally by a 2-1 score in overtime at Rappolt Field. The Terriers have gotten their revenge since, though, defeating Lafayette, 5-1, in 2017, and earlier this year, 7-4.
- On Monday, the Patriot League announced four all-league selections for the Maroon and White as well as naming freshman
Molly McAndrew as the league's Rookie of the Year. McAndrew was also a first-team selection, along with Delahanty and
Lisa van der Geest, while
Caroline Turnbull was a second-team honoree.
