Lafayette Women Lose Tight Battle to LIU Brooklyn

Women edged out by a score of 150-103

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - The Lafayette  women's swimming and diving team competed in a dual meet with LIU Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon, losing a 150-103 decision.
 
Lafayette won four of the 15 races. Tara Leininger took home first place in the 1000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:58.41. Anne Marie Mozrall also placed first in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 2:04.45. In the 200 free, Lafayette's Olivia Barcia and Emily Richter secured second and third,  respectively.
 
Maya Athena Imperial was another winner, claiming the 400-yard IM in 4:52.07. The Leopards also finished second and third in this event, with Lauren Lapsley and Emily Benson behind Imperial.
 
The 400 free relay of Mozrall, Leinenger, Julia Hall and Emily Wilson swam a time of 3:48.26 to win the event.
 
The men and women's teams return to action on Friday with a home meet against rival Lehigh.
