EASTON, Pa. - Freshman Quinn Lacy did everything she could between the pipes for the Lafayette women's lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon, but it ultimately wasn't enough as the Leopards dropped their second Patriot League contest by a 16-8 score to Boston U. at Fisher Stadium.

Lacy was able to produce a career-high 14 saves on the day at the back end of the Lafayette defense, but dropped her season record to 3-4. Her save total was her second of the double-digit variety this season as she's averaging 6.0 saves per contest in her rookie campaign.

The Leopards were blitzed early by the visitors, who scored the game's first six goals over a 12:51 stretch. Lafayette finally got on the board with back-to-back tallies around the 15-minute mark, but the Terriers answered with another run, this time seven unanswered, to put the game out of reach.

Five straight from the Maroon and White, including three from Jane Kirby, got the Leopards as close as six with 12:29 to play at 13-7, but in the end, there wasn't enough time for a comeback in the 16-8 loss. Kirby's tallies during that stretch were her only scores of the afternoon, moving her career total to 96 over her two-plus seasons.

Kirby's classmate Emma Novick was the other major source of offense for Lafayette with three goals of her own, while Kristin Schaen and Bella Alampi were the other goal-scorers with one apiece. All eight of the Leopards' tallies were unassisted.

On the other side, 10 different Boston U. players registered a goal on the afternoon, led by a game-high six from Avery Donahoe. Christine Laible countered Lacy well between the pipes, making 12 saves of her own for her third win of the season.

The Terriers boasted a 39-29 shot advantage and a slim 20-19 edge in ground balls. Lafayette came out on the wrong side in draw controls as well, 16-10.

The Leopards return to Patriot League play on Wednesday, welcoming Bucknell to Fisher Stadium for a 7 p.m. matchup.
