Rhode Island captured the team title in the 2018 Abarta Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Lafayette at The Steel Club (formerly Silver Creek Country Club). The Rams won by two strokes over Lehigh, finishing at 11-over 587 on the 6,655-yard, par-72 course. Both rounds of the tournament were played today because of Monday's weather forecast.
UConn's Tim Umphrey won the individual title on the second playoff hole over Max Palmer of Robert Morris and Jason Short of Rhode Island. All three were tied at two-under 142 following today's final round. Umphrey parred both holes, the par-4, 400-yard first and par-4, 305-yard second.
