WEST ORANGE, N.J. - Sophomore
Brendan Cronin shot a 143 Saturday at the par-70 Montclair Golf Club to lead the Lafayette Men's Golf contingent in the Columbia Spring Invite.
Playing 36 holes in one day, Cronin opened the morning round with an even par 70 and then delivered a second round 73 to finish in a three-way tie for 5th place behind medalist Ross Pilliod of Saint Joseph's. Pilliod also helped the Hawks capture the team title in the 11-team field.
Sophomore
Cole Berger also finished in the top-25 with a two round total of 149. Other Leopards taking part in the event were
Drew Steiner,
Ryan Krechel and
Creighton Hendrix. Freshman
T.J. Repczynski also competed as an individual in the 63-player field.
Next up for Lafayette is the Rhode Island Invitational on April 15-16. Junior
Will Halamandaris is the defending champion in the event at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown, R.I. Halamandaris won the 2018 tournament in a playoff following a second round 69.
