HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate grabbed both ends of a Sunday Patriot League twinbill vs. Lafayette, winning 3-2 and 9-1.

In game one, Colgate managed three runs on three hits, with Mia Guevarra contributing a two-run single. That was all the offense the Raiders needed. Â

The Leopards put a run on the scoreboard in the second inning, drawing back-to-back walks to start the inning and prompt a Colgate pitching change. A wild pitch moved the runners up 60 feet before
Kaitlyn Rarick scored
Maddie Wensel with a single. Reliever Kaitlyn Borruso retired the next three batters (two via strikeout) to end the rally.

In the third,
Paige Grover singled and later scored on
Malori Pojar's single as Lafayette pulled within 3-2.

For the remainder, the Leopards mustered one more hit offensively. Meanwhile Lafayette starter
Stacy Gordon held Colgate in check, limiting the Raiders to six hits over the final five innings.

Game two saw Colgate (24-22, 7-7) break out for five runs in the third inning fueled by Morgan Farrah's three-run home run.

In the fifth, the Leopards scored their lone run of the game.
Natasha Miner singled and later scored on a
Brooke Wensel groundout to get the Leopards in the scoring column.

Colgate added two runs in the fourth and the fifth to close out the 9-1 final in five innings.

Kinzi Van Wyk was the Lafayette pitcher of record, allowing seven runs on eight hits with a strikeout. Jessica Hay claimed the win, surrendering one run on three hits in 2.2 innings.

Lafayette (8-34-1, 1-13) and Colgate wrap up the Patriot League series with a single game on Monday at noon.
