LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior shortstop Brooke Wensel broke up Bucknell's perfect-game bid with two outs in the seventh inning on Sunday in the series finale at Becker Field, a game the Bison claimed 2-0.
 
Wensel was down 0-2 in the count, before connecting with a single to center field off Bucknell starter Raeanne Geffert who struck out 15 batters of the 23 batters she faced on the afternoon. Geffert hit the next batter, Maddie Wensel, before retiring Erin Scott on a ground ball to end the game.
 
Bucknell (19-15, 9-0) scored a single run in the third and fifth innings. Halie Mariano drove in Ryanne Rokos with a two-out single for the early lead. In the fifth, Taylor Wolfgang legged out triple and scored on a sac fly to cap the scoring by both teams.
 
Backed by solid defensive play, Stacy Gordon allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk in the loss.
 
Lafayette (4-26-1, 1-9) returns home to host Villanova on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
