LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior shortstop
Brooke Wensel broke up Bucknell's perfect-game bid with two outs in the seventh inning on Sunday in the series finale at Becker Field, a game the Bison claimed 2-0.

Wensel was down 0-2 in the count, before connecting with a single to center field off Bucknell starter Raeanne Geffert who struck out 15 batters of the 23 batters she faced on the afternoon. Geffert hit the next batter,

Bucknell (19-15, 9-0) scored a single run in the third and fifth innings. Halie Mariano drove in Ryanne Rokos with a two-out single for the early lead. In the fifth, Taylor Wolfgang legged out triple and scored on a sac fly to cap the scoring by both teams.

Backed by solid defensive play,
Stacy Gordon allowed two runs on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk in the loss.

Lafayette (4-26-1, 1-9) returns home to host Villanova on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
