CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Ryan Tall, a sophomore member of the Lafayette Men's Golf team, was named the Patriot League Men's Golfer of the week as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.

The Devon, Pa. native shot a 1-under 215 to finish tied for second place in the season-opening Alex Lagowitz Memorial Invitational at the par-72 Seven Oaks GC in Hamilton, N.Y. After an opening round 76 had him T-45 through 18 holes, Tall shot a blistering 6-under 66 on Saturday afternoon to make a move up the leaderboard.

The second round was the lowest shot by any of the 96 participants in the field over the weekend and featured a stretch on the front nine where he birdied five of six holes. Tall concluded the event with a 1-over 73 on the final day that included an eagle on the par-5 12th. He would finish behind champion Chris Francoeur of Rhode Island who carded three sub-par rounds.

Tall also received honorable mention recognition in April when he finished in a three-way tie for first at the Navy Invitational as a freshman.

Lafayette finished T-5 in the Lagowitz Memorial Tournament and will head to Bethpage State Park on Long Island this weekend to participate in the Gimmler Invitational hosted by St. John's.
