Swimming and Diving has Program-Best 60 on PL Academic Honor Roll

EASTON, Pa. — The Lafayette College swimming and diving team set a new bar for academic excellence, as it had a program-record 60 student-athletes  make the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

The Leopards' 60 honorees — 40 of them being from the women's team and 20 being from the men's squad — surpassed the program's previous record of 43, which was set in 2018. Before this past semester, the swimming and diving team only surpassed 40 or more student-athletes on the league's honor roll three times.

Thirteen members of the team — 10 women and three men — posted perfect 4.0 GPAs. Anne Marie Mozrall '20, rising seniors Samantha Bluvol, Maya ImperialEmma Piascik, and Mary Zimmerman, rising juniors Olivia Barcia, Tara LeiningerEmily Richter, Emily Wilson and rising sophomore Alison Gery had the perfect marks for the women's team.  Rising seniors Tanner McFarland and Ethan Miller and rising sophomore Aaron Tupper led the way for the men's team.

Graduating seniors Emily Benson, Bryce Currie and Mitchell Cairns became four-time PL Academic Honor Roll selections after finishing their final semesters with 3.93, 3.85, and 3.75  GPAs, respectively.  Mozrall, Piascik and Zimmerman also became three-time PL Academic Honor Roll selections on the women's side, while McFarland and Miller became three-time honorees on the men's side.

In order to be considered for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must earn a 3.20 grade-point average in the spring semester and take part in one of the League's winter or spring championship sports.
