Men's Lax Battles Drexel in Wednesday Clash

Leopards travel to Philadelphia for non-league affair

* Lafayette heads back out of conference on Wednesday evening for a 6 p.m. clash with Drexel in Philadelphia. The Leopards are still searching for their first win this season following a defeat at No. 13 Loyola in the start to league play on March 13 in Baltimore.

The rookies for the Maroon and White have been excellent up front as Charlie Cunniffe and John Mathes went consecutive weeks winning the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week honor on March 8 and March 15. Cunniffe talied six points in his debut against VMI on March 6, scoring three goals and adding three assists in the 13-12 loss. Mathes, coming off the bench in all three outings this season, scored a pair of goals in back-to-back games against Fairfield and Loyola. Additionally, junior Ryan Ness was an honorable mention on March 15 after tallying a career-high 19 saves against the Greyhounds on March 13.

* Wednesday's outing marks the final non-conference game of the 2021 slate for the Maroon and White. Lafayette's final seven contests will come against conference opponents as the Leopards make a push for the Patriot League Tournament.
