BROCKPORT, N.Y.- Alex Darrah of the Lafayette field hockey team has been named a Scholar of Distinction by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA). The honor is awarded to players who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or better through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

The freshman defender and midfielder (Norwalk, Conn.) tops the list while majoring in Economics. Darrah saw action in all 20 games of her first semester with the Maroon and White, finishing the season with 14 shots total.
The Leopards ended the season with a 14-6 overall record after placing second in the Patriot League regular season with a 4-2 mark. The team advanced to the 2021 Patriot League Tournament championship game after a thrilling overtime victory against rival Bucknell, before falling to American by a narrow score of 1-2.
