HAMILTON, N.Y. – Colgate started fast, scoring five unanswered goals to open the game and defeated the Lafayette men's lacrosse team 14-7 Saturday afternoon at Andy Kerr Stadium.
The Raiders got off to a fast start, jumping out to a 5-0 lead in the game's opening seven minutes.
Two Leopards tallied two goals each on the day in junior
Ryan Duncan and Sophomore
Charlie Cunniffe while sophomore
Peter Lehman added two assists with a goal.

John Mathes broke the run by netting Lafayette's first goal off the feed from junior
Macklin Fitzpatrick to make it 5-1 at the end of the first.
Lafayette would make it a 3-0 run netting the first two goals of the second quarter as junior
Ryan Duncan and Lehman went back-to-back to make it 5-3.
Colgate would answer with two-straight, including a goal with just one second remaining in the half to take a 7-3 lead into the break. The home team would outscore Lafayette, 4-2, in the third quarter to take a commanding 11-5 lead into the final frame.
Cunniffe netted both of Lafayette's goals in the third period.
The Leopards scored the first two of the final period to begin a comeback as Duncan and sophomore
Kalman Kraham scored nearly a minute apart to make it 11-7. The home team quickly answered with back-to-back scores to put the game out of reach.
Colgate was effective at the faceoff, winning 20-of-25 duels in the middle while goalkeeper Matt Lacombe was dominant in net making 17 saves.
Lafayette returns to action next weekend, traveling to Boston U for a 1 p.m. game time.
