HIGH POINT, N.C. - The Lafayette track and field team opened their outdoor season this weekend at the Bob Davidson Invitational. Day one was on Friday, with the meet concluding with Day two on Saturday.
On the women's side,
Julia Greeley opened up the season with a mark of 10' 8" in the pole vault, placing fifth in Group B.
Juliette Delmotte had a strong showing to the outdoor season, finishing sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 38 4/14".Â
Jill Warabak also started her season off strong, finishing 11th in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 15.05 seconds.
Staying in the field events was a seventh place finish from
Caity McTernan, with a mark of 118' 5" in the javelin. Finishing 11th was
Rylee Bordwick with a mark of 102' 0".
In the hammer throw,
Solape Fakorede lead the way, finishing 12th overall with a mark of 149' 0".
On the men's side,
Jack Lynett opened the season with a mark of 13 7
1/4" in the pole vault, good for sixth in the event. Finishing 10th was
Oscar Jopp, with a mark of 12 11
1/2".Â
In the javelin,
Billy Prebola had a huge performance, finishing sixth with a mark of 215 ' 8". The mark is a new personal best for Prebola, and is the third best throw in school history in the event. The mark is also a IC4A qualifier. Finishing behind Prebola in 11th was
Dylan Drescher with a mark of 179' 4".
Jordan Anderson continued his strong indoor season with a great opening performance, finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 23 21
/2". This jump from Anderson is also a IC4A qualifier.
Harrison Greenhill also had a big meet, finishing with a sixth and seventh place finish on the day. In the shot put, Greenhill finished sixth with a mark of 48' 11
3/4". In the discus, he finished seventh with a top throw of 148' 1".
The hammer throw was another successful event, with the Leopards taking seventh and eighth place. Leading the way was
Andrew Bowsher (7th, 159' 7") and
Andrew Swiniarski (8th, 158' 3").Â
The Leopards continue their season with a home meet on March 26th at the Lafayette Open.Â
