KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lafayette track and field team continued its season at the Mondschein Multis.
On the men's side,
Oscar Jopp had a strong showing, finishing first overall in the decathlon with a total score of 5814. His score was nearly 600 points better than the second place finisher.
In the 100 meter dash, Jopp finished fourth in a time of 11.85 to score 681 points. He then finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 20' 1
3/4" for 617 points.
In the shot put, Jopp finished third with a mark of 34' 6
1/4" to score another 517 points. In the high jump, Jopp finished third again with a mark of 5' 8
1/2" to add 577 more points to his total.
In the 400 meter run, Jopp finished second in a time of 53.49 to score the another 661 points to his meet total. In the 110 meter hurdles, Jopp finished first in a time of 16.23 to add another 707 points.
Another first place finish came in the discus, with a mark of 101' 8" to score 484 points for Jopp. He also finished tied for first in the pole vault with a mark of 12' 7
1/2" to score 576 more points.
Jopp followed that up with a second place finish in the javelin, with a mark of 143' 0" to add another 494 points. Finally, in the 1,500 meter run, Jopp finished fourth in a time of 5:10.68 to add the final 500 points to his meet win.
