Head Coach Patrick Myers welcomes collegiate national champion as assistant coach

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette College men's lacrosse program and head coach Patrick Myers have announced the hiring of Erik Adamson as assistant coach Wednesday morning. Adamson will serve as the Leopards' offensive coordinator.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Erik and his wife Melissa to Easton. From the first time I had a chance to meet with Erik, I knew he was the type of person that we wanted in our locker room, working with our young men on and off the field," Myers said. "Erik is a very bright young coach with a servant's heart, and I know he is going to bring fresh perspective and energy to our program as we look to take another step in the Patriot League."

A four-year assistant at his alma mater, Adamson worked closely with the University of Denver offense, while coordinating a top-10 nationally EMO unit in 2022.

As a student-athlete, Adamson led the Pioneers to the program's first national championship in 2015 and left his mark in the record book, sitting fifth in DU history in points (146), fourth in goals (111), fourth in shots on goals (184) and third in man-up goals (20).

An honorable mention All-American as a senior, Adamson netted 35 goals with nine assists and was drafted by the Chesapeake Bayhawks in 2015.

Before joining the staff at Denver, Adamson served as the offensive coordinator at Regis Jesuit High school in 2017, finishing runner-up in 2017 before winning the Colorado State Championship in 2018.

What They're Saying
"In 41 years of college coaching, I cannot remember coaching many finer young men than Erik Adamson. His story, as an unknown California high school player, to becoming one of the most important contributors to our 2015 National Championship team, is amazing. To continue his Denver Pioneer journey, Erik joined us as our Volunteer Coach for the 2019 season and has spent four years learning from, and adding to Matt Brown's offense. His strong moral character, athletic IQ and coaching acumen have helped develop many of our players both on and off the field. I am thrilled that he will continue in the coaching profession, as he has so much to offer, and under the guidance of Pat Myers, I know he will grow. The Lafayette lacrosse team will benefit greatly with the addition of this great young man. I wish Erik and his wife Melissa much happiness and success in their new beginning."
