BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey's freshman midfielder
Stella Malinowski was named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Malinowski scored one goal apiece against Towson and Quinnipiac, both of which were penalty strokes. Against the Bobcats, her tally tied the contest, 1-1, in the final six minutes of regulation, subsequently allowing the Leopards to enter overtime and emerge victorious 2-1.
The Vancouver, B.C. native currently totals 18 points on eight goals and two assists through 15 games. She is 3-for-3 in penalty stroke attempts.
Today's laurel is the fourth of her collegiate career, following Oct. 9 where she was named both the Rookie of the Week for recording six points on two goals and two assists in Lafayette's shutout victories over Colgate and Drexel.

Lineke Spaans were also listed as honorable mentions for their efforts this weekend.
The Leopards travel to Lehigh and Temple on Oct. 27 and 29, respectively, to close out the regular season. Lafayette remains in second place in the conference standings with a 10-5 (4-1 PL) overall record while looking to continue its seven-game win streak.
