BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette field hockey's freshman midfielder
Naomi George was named the Patriot League's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
George scored the game-winning goal in Lafayette's 2-1 victory over Lehigh on Friday night, securing a final 5-1 conference record for the Leopards in the 2023 regular season. Her goal, a rebound off of the Mountain Hawk goalkeeper's pads, was unassisted at the 40:13 mark in the third quarter.
Josephine van Wijk and
India Ralph were also listed as honorable mentions for their efforts this weekend.
The No. 2 Leopards travel to Washington, D.C. on Thursday to face No. 3 Boston in the Patriot League Tournament semifinal round.
