Leopards Remain in Both Top 25 Polls

7-2 Lafayette sits at No. 23 in AFCA poll and No. 25 in Stats Perform

EASTON, Pa. – Lafayette stayed in both Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Top 25 polls this week, moving to 23rd in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll and 25th in the Stats Perform poll following a 37-34 overtime loss to Colgate on Saturday that snapped the Leopards' six-game win streak.

It marks the third straight week that Lafayette has appeared in the Top 25 rankings. The Leopards reached No. 16 in the AFCA poll and No. 20 in the Stats Perform ballot on Oct. 30. Lafayette initially broke into the polls on Oct. 23 following their 35-25 win over then No. 11/15 Holy Cross on Oct. 21, snapping Holy Cross' 18-game conference winning streak.

Under second-year head coach John Troxell '94, Lafayette already has surpassed the program win total from each of the last 13 seasons, guaranteeing the program its first winning season since 2009. The Leopards finished their non-league slate with a 4-1 mark, the lone blemish against FBS foe Duke.

With two conference games left in the season, the Leopards remain solidly in the Patriot League title race at 3-1 in league play. The Leopards continue their hunt on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on Senior Day vs. Fordham before venturing to the dark recesses of Bethlehem and #Rivalry159 on Nov. 18.
