GENEVA, N.Y.-Â The Lafayette field hockey program earned yet another National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) academic honor this month, being named a Division I National Academic Team on Tuesday afternoon.
The Leopards are one of 42 teams across the country to earn this award with a cumulative GPA above 3.5 for the fall semester of this academic year.
Last week,
Alex Darrah and
Aimee Hoefnagel were named NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction for having a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or better through the first semester of the 2022-23 academic year.
Darrah topped the list in back-to-back years while majoring in Economics and Computer Science. Darrah saw action in seven games of her second season with the Maroon and White. Hoefnagel, a freshman from Rotterdam, Netherlands, is majoring in the Liberal Arts and had minutes in six games last fall.
The NFHCA also recently announced the 2022 Division I National Academic Squad with 14 Leopards being recognized for achieving a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
