NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Lafayette track and field team continued its season Friday and Saturday for the Rutgers Invite at the Nike Track and Field Center in New York City. Senior Bobby Oehrlein set a new Lafayette record in the 5000-meter run.Â
Oehrlein took home fourth place in the 5000-meter run, clocking a time of 14:35.19, which now stands as a new school record for the Leopards. In the men's championship weight throw, classmate Andrew Swiniarski earned a sixth-place finish with a throw of 57' 2.75". Senior Devin Rosmarin managed a fifth-place finish in the men's college weight throw (49' 8.25").
Sophomore Julia Greeley finished in 11th place in the pole vault with a vault of 12' 0.75". Greeley becomes only the second woman to vault over 12 feet in Lafayette College history. In the 3000-meter run, senior Becky Hartman placed eighth with a time of 10:01.99. Hartman moves up into fourth place all-time at Lafayette in the 3000-meter run.
Classmate Grace O'Mara managed a 10th-place finish in the women's weight throw (40' 8.25"). Junior Emma Lorey took home seventh place in the 5000-meter run (17:57.02). Lorey moves into tenth place all-time for the Leopards in the 3000-meter run.
The Maroon and White will continue competition on Jan. 4 in Staten Island, N.Y. for the Fast Track Invite.
