The Matchup
The Leopards will travel to Binghamton, N.Y. this weekend to take on the Bearcats of Binghamton University in a three-game series set to begin on Friday at 3 p.m. Lafayette leads the all-time series 8-5. Binghamton won the last meeting between the two squads, 3-1, which came in 2007.
A Familiar Face
A.J. Miller '11 has returned to College Hill as the Leopards' skipper in 2023. Miller who is a 2011 Lafayette graduate was the 2011 Patriot League Player of the Year, a All-Patriot League First-Team selection and tied the Lafayette program record for home runs with 22. Miller was a Charles L. Albert '08 award recipient and received the Paul E. Koch '28 award during his time in Easton. After leaving College Hill, Miller went on to play professional baseball for the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League and the Lincoln Saltdogs of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball. He spent the previous seven years on the baseball staff at Lehigh University, holding titles of assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and associate head coach during his tenure.

James Reese was awarded Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week for his work on the mound against High Point. Junior
Blaze Fadio was named Patriot League Baseball Player of the Week and freshman
Ethan Swidler was selected as Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week for their performances at Southeastern Louisiana. Senior
Alex Walsh was named Patriot League Baseball Pitcher of the Week for his effort against Davidson. These were the first weekly honors for the four members of the Lafayette Nine.

Senior
Pete Ciuffreda has provided power for the Lafayette offense this year, clubbing a team-leading six home runs and is credited with 12 RBI's. Ciuffreda has reached base in nine of the last 10 games for the Leopards. Senior
Kyle Chmielewski swung a hot bat during the series against Stony Brook, finishing the series batting .556 with two doubles, driving in two runs and scoring three runs. Another player to watch is senior
Seif Ingram. Ingram has a team best 13 RBIs, along with three home runs, and has recorded a hit in 10 of the last 12 games for the Leopards. On the mound, the Leopards have been led by senior
Alex Walsh, who has posted a 4.86 ERA in 16.2 innings pitched, recording a 1-1 record and striking out 19.
The Opponent
Binghamton won the America East Conference Tournament in 2022 and enters this weekend series with a 5-7 record. The Bearcats are coming off of a 17-8 win in the series finale of their three-game set against George Washington. Sophomore Nick Roselli leads the Bearcats at the plate. Roselli has two home runs and 15 RBIs to his credit this season. Another hot bat for Binghamton is sophomore Devan Bade. Bade has had two or more hits in five of the last eight games. He is batting .326 on the year, with two home runs and 10 RBIs. On the mound, the Bearcats are led by Gabe Driscoll. The junior is a leader in virtually every statistical pitching category, with a 1.19 ERA, 18 strikeouts and has a 2-0 record in 22.2 innings pitched.
