BETHLEHEM, Pa.- Lafayette field hockey's freshman defender
Katie Gibb was tabbed the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The Vancouver, B.C. native tallied two assists in the 3-2 defeat at Columbia on Sept. 10. Both assists were inserts that kicked off a pair of perfectly executed penalty corners which allowed the Leopards to close the gap against the Lions.
Gibb has started and played in all five contests thus far in her first-year campaign, seeing significant minutes in each game. She currently totals three points, including one other assist in the 5-0 home-opening victory versus Wagner on Aug. 25.
Sophomore midfielder
Josephine van Wijk was listed as an honorable mention for her efforts this weekend, recording both Leopard goals at Columbia.
The Leopards host Bucknell on Friday at 7 p.m. to open the Patriot League slate.
