HAMPDEN, Mass. - Junior
Harry Dessel continued his hot start to the 2024-25 golf season by finishing tied for 17th place in the 78-participant field at The Connecticut Cup, hosted by UConn. Dessel carded 74-72-76 over three days, bringing his total score for the event to 222.
The Leopards finished 12th in the 13-team field at the par-72, 7,602-yard Greathorse Golf Club. Over three rounds, the Maroon and White's total score was 929. Dessel and senior
Quint Dingledine were the two leading golfers for Lafayette with Dingledine shooting four-over-par on the third and final day of the tournament, landing him t-27.
Sophomore
Winston Kelenc-Blank finished with a total score of 237 after carding 74-81-82, finishing tied for 59th. Freshman
Harrison Browne finished t-69 after shooting 11-over-par for round three and 245 for the invitational.
Senior
Sean Saw carded 83-83-83 on all three days, giving him a total score of 249 and t-74. Sophomore
Hudson Pace competed as an individual for the event, ending his third round shooting three-over-par. Pace shot 236 for the invitational and earned a t-57 finish.
Rhode Island came away with bragging rights, collectively shooting 869 over three days. St. John's Peicheng Chen finished as the event's top golfer, carding 71-71-70, good for four-under-par for the invitational.
Lafayette will take the course once again when they participate in the Bucknell Invitational, hosted by Bucknell.
