LEWISBURG, Pa. - On Sunday, the Maroon and White saw freshman
Michael DiNapoli and junior
Harry Dessel finish near the top of the pack after day one of the Bucknell Invitational. DiNapoli shot 68 in his collegiate debut for the Leopards, while Dessel continued his hot streak, carding a 69 after 18 holes. DiNapoli and Dessel are tied for third and sixth in the 108-player field, respectively.
The Leopards are currently tied for 17th in the 18-team field after the first of three days at the par-70, 6,253-yard Bucknell Golf Club. As a team, Lafayette shot 298 with 36 holes remaining.
The Maroon and White have three individual golfers in the event: DiNapoli, freshman
Travis Robertson and sophomore
Hudson Pace. Robertson is t-13 after shooting even par in the first round, while Pace finished tied for 41st for carding a 72.
Lafayette's lineup for the event consists of Dessel, senior
Sean Saw, senior
Michael Bell, senior
Quint Dingledine and freshman
Reed Theiss. Saw shot a 75, leaving him tied for 70th. Bell and Dingledine are tied for 84th, after both seniors shot seven-over-par. Theiss carded a 78, tying him for 94th.
The Leopards will play two more rounds in the Bucknell Invitational, one on Monday and one on Tuesday, before participating in the Lehigh Invitational on Oct. 24-26.
