Leopards To Face Oregon State and Bowling Green in 2025

Season marks the first time since 1993 Lafayette will face two current FBS teams

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette football will face a pair of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents in 2025, traveling to Oregon State and Bowling Green.

The Leopards will kick off their season on the road against Bowling Green in Ohio on Aug. 28. It will mark the first meeting between the schools and the second-straight season that Lafayette has opened a campaign on the road against a MAC opponent. Since its inaugural season in 1882, Lafayette has only played against two schools from Ohio: Dayton (a 45-0 Lafayette win in 1923) and Ohio Wesleyan (a 27-7 Lafayette win in 1948), both games played on College Hill. Bowling Green is the first of three straight road contests to begin 2025.

The Leopards will commence Patriot League play at Georgetown on Sept. 13. Lafayette's home opener follows on Sept. 19 vs. Columbia, the program's first night home game since 2018. A Family Weekend/Homecoming Weekend matchup vs. Princeton trails a week later on Sept. 28. The Leopards then play two more contests at home in the first two weeks of October.

Week eight puts Lafayette on a 2,927-mile trip across the country to Corvallis, Ore. to take on Oregon State. The matchup is the farthest west that Lafayette has traveled for a football game and it also marks the Maroon and White's first meeting with a Pac-12 Conference opponent. The last time Lafayette faced two current FBS teams was 1993 (winning a 29-15 decision against Buffalo, while dropping a 35-12 loss at Army). Lafayette has played an FBS foe each of the last four seasons (Air Force, Temple, Duke, Buffalo).

November will feature Patriot League clashes at Holy Cross (11/1), at home vs. Colgate (11/8) and then back on the road to face new Patriot League football member Richmond (11/15). The Maroon and White wrap up the regular season by hosting Lehigh on Nov. 22 in the 161st meeting of college football's most-played rivalry.

The Leopards will play 12 games in 2025 campaign, with six on the road and six at Fisher Stadium.
