EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's lacrosse program and head coach
Katie McConnell have named seniors
Lindsay Geiger,
Sara Rogers,
Sophia Spallone, and
Molly Terraciano as captains for the 2025 season.
"I am honored to name Lindsay, Sara, Sophia and Molly as captains for the 2025 season. I feel fortunate that our current roster will have them leading the way," said McConnell. "They are the ideal representations of everything our team stands for. I have complete confidence in their ability to guide us toward our goals this season, and I am excited for what we will accomplish under their leadership."
In 2024, Geiger was a consistent starter for the Maroon and White and helped lead the defensive unit. The Easton, Pa. native surpassed both the 100 career ground balls and draw control milestones last April.
"I am super honored to be name a captain again for the women's lacrosse team this season. I am beyond lucky to be surrounded by such an amazing group of people who push me to be better every single day," said Geiger. "Our incoming class has bought into our ideals of teamwork, support, dedication and hard work. I can't wait to see them and previous teammates show what it means to be a member of the Lafayette women's lacrosse program. We have always had one goal as a team, to make the Patriot League playoffs, and I have never felt more confident in reaching that goal than I am for this season."
Rogers started all 16 games last season as an attacker who recorded 19 goals and 14 assists for 33 points. The Economics major netted a hat trick against Bucknell on April 17.
"I am so excited to be named as a captain for the Lafayette women's lacrosse team this year. The past three years have been so incredible for this team and we have built such an amazing culture and community," said Rogers. "I feel so lucky to be able to lead this hard-working tram with my fellow captains. The time and dedication everyone has put into preparation for this upcoming season will surely have us raising the bar for the future of Lafayette women's lacrosse. I love this team so much and can't wait see what this spring will bring!"
Spallone competed in 15 contests in 2024 and tallied 11 goals and two assists for 13 points, most notably the game-winning double-overtime goal at Lehigh on April 24.
"It's an honor to be named captain and I am lucky to lead alongside such amazing friends and fellow captains," Spallone said. "We've put in a lot of hard work this offseason and we are excited to see it all pay off this spring. This team means so much to me and I am looking forward to cherishing every moment with my teammates both on and off the field."
Terraciano, a Pelham, N.Y. native, has posted 21 career saves in eight games during her time on College Hill.
"I am beyond honored to be named a captain of the Lafayette women's lacrosse team. I am constantly surrounded by hardworking athletes who support each other through everything," Terraciano said. "Being able to lead a team that values unity and trust has made me the best version of myself. Every day, I am grateful for the constant passion and commitment that our team emulates. I cherish this team with my whole heart and we are lucky to call ourselves Lafayette women's lacrosse."
