ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Junior
Harry Dessel jumped eight spots after the first two rounds of "The Goat" to finish fifth overall after shooting even par over 54 holes. Dessel guided the Leopards to a ninth-place finish at the two-day event host by Navy. He carded 65-70 to bring his two-day total to 213.
After the first two rounds, the Leopards saw themselves in 10th place, shooting a collective 26-over-par after 36 holes at the Naval Academy Golf Club. In the third round on the par-71, 7,025-yard course, the Maroon and White shot 10-over-par for 887 (36-over-par).
Senior
Quint Dingledine ended the event t-20. Dingledine was five-over-par for three rounds (218). Sophomore
Winston Kelenc-Blank leaped seven spots to tie for 36, after shooting one-over-par for the third round and 10-over-par for the event (223).
Freshmen
Reed Theiss and
Travis Robertson, both competing in their first tournament as Leopards, shot 233 and 236, respectively. Theiss tied for 73rd, while Robertson came in 79th. Senior
Michael Bell shot a 245.
The University of the Pacific shot one-under-par over the two days (851) to claim the team title. Loyola Maryland's Gustavo Rangel carded a three-under-par (210) to capture medalist honors.
The Leopards will be back in action on Sunday, when they travel to Hampden, Mass. to compete in The 14th Annual Connecticut Cup, hosted by UConn.
