Football Brings in 10 More Student-Athletes On National Signing Day

Class of 2029 comes from nine different states with 11 on offense and 10 on defense

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette football has added 10 more student-athletes to the 2024-25 recruiting class, securing the commitments of 10 members of the Class of 2029 to along with two transfers.

The Leopards had already announced the additions of 11 student-athletes in the early signing period in December, securing four after the new year and six more today to grow the incoming class to 21 with more expected to join in the coming months. On the offensive side of things, 11 players will be joining the Leopards: four wide receivers, two running backs, two quarterbacks, two offensive linemen and one tight end. Defensively, the Leopards have added five linebackers, three defensive backs and two defensive linemen.

The most recent signings are part of Lafayette's 13th scholarship recruiting class in the Patriot League era. The group has four signees from New Jersey, three each from Florida, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, two each from Maryland, Texas and Virginia and one apiece from California and Louisiana.

"Our program has added 16 new players to our program during the second signing period to give us a total of 27 in this class. We cannot publicly announce six of those players until they deposit for their enrollment," said John Troxell, the Fred M. Kirby II '42 Head Football Coach. "We are not done yet as we plan to add a few more students to our class. This is a group that has had major accomplishments throughout their high school careers and we believe they will have a great impact on Lafayette football over the next four years. We have said we want players who love school and ball and that is what you find with this class of recruits.

Lafayette football is coming off a 6-6 mark in 2024 and is just a year removed from capturing a Patriot League title. The Leopards will open spring practice on March 25, with the Maroon and White Spring Showcase set for April 26 at Fisher Stadium. The 2025 regular season begins Aug. 30, 2025 at Bowling Green, the first of three straight road games.
