WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Lafayette concluded its first invitational of the Spring on Tuesday, rising one spot to tie for eighth at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary. As a team, the Maroon and White shot 892, tying with Towson and Holy Cross, at the par-71, 6,817-yard Golden Horseshoe Gold Course.
Senior
Quint Dingledine finished t-31 after shooting eight-over-par over 54 holes. Classmate
Sean Saw (224) and freshman
Travis Robertson (226) finished t-42 and t-47, respectively. Sophmore
Winston Kelenc-Blank rose six spots on the final day of the tournament to t-52, carding a 75 for round three and shooting 14-over-par for the event. Junior
Harry Dessel managed 228, landing him t-56.
The Leopards had three individual golfers participate at the Invitational:
Hudson Pace,
Reed Theiss and
Michael Bell. Pace finished the event shooting 16-over-par, ending t-61. Theiss (230) landed at 67, a stroke behind Pace. Bell managed 253 over the two days, landing in 85.
Longwood claimed the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate after carding 856, while Longwood's Justin LaRue won medalists honors in the 86-participant field, shooting eight-under-par (205).
The Leopards will take the course once again on March 31 at the Columbia Spring Invitational.
