EASTON, Pa. – Freshman second baseman
Alex Barrist has been selected as Patriot League Baseball Rookie of the Week, announced on Monday afternoon.
Barrist batted. 364 with four hits, while slugging .636 during the reporting week. His swing included six RBIs along with scoring three runs. The Newtown Square, Pa. native ripped a league-best fifth triple down the right field line in Lafayette's series opener against Navy that scored two runs and propelled the Leopards to victory.
The freshman also drove in three runs and scored three runs in Lafayette's 22-11 mid-week triumph over St. Peter's.

Joe Skapinetz were selected as honorable mentions for their play during the Leopards' games versus St. Peter's and Navy.
Lafayette continues its season on Wednesday at 3 p.m., when it hosts rival Lehigh.
