KINGSTON, N.Y. - Freshman
Travis Robertson powered the Lafayette Maroon team to a second place finish on Saturday at the Roar-EE Invitational, hosted by Columbia.
The Palm Beach, Fla. native shot two-under-par over 36 holes of golf, with a team-high nine birdies and an eagle. Robertson tied for third at the par-72, 6,790-yard Wiltlyck Golf Club, marking the second straight event that the Leopards had a golfer finish within the top three.
In addition to Robertson, the Maroon team consisted of
Sean Saw,
Quint Dingledine,
Harry Dessel and
Winston Kelenc-Blank. Dessel (145) and Kelenc-Blank (146) landed t-10 and 13, respectively. After he shot one-under-par in round one, Saw carded 79 in the second round to end up t-28. Dingledine rested t-33 after he shot 151. For the day, the Maroon team shot four-over-par, collecting second in the 10-team field.

Hudson Pace,
Michael DiNapoli,
Michael Bell and
Harrison Browne made up the Lafayette White team. The second Leopard team in the invitational shot 625, concluding the event in 10th. Theiss paced the White team, as the freshman shot nine-over-par to land t-43. DiNapoli finished the event t-50 after he carded a 155. Following behind DiNapoli was Pace, who shot 12-over-par to end up t-53. Bell (161) and Browne (165) rested t-61 and 67, respectively.
Team honors went to St. Thomas Aquinas, which shot 578 to capture first. Dartmouth's Tyler Brand and St. Thomas Aquinas' Nolan Skaggs shared the individual award after both golfers paced the 68-participant field by carding six-under-par.
The Leopards' next time out is Tuesday, when the Maroon and White take on Lehigh in the Presidents Cup at Hamilton Farm Golf Club.
