EASTON, Pa. - Head coach
A.J. Miller has announced the addition of
Jabin Weaver to the Lafayette baseball staff as Assistant Baseball Coach/Director of
Technology & Scouting on Tuesday.
"We are really excited to welcome Jabin and his family to Lafayette", Miller said. "Jabin is a tireless recruiter and a proven pitching coach. Our program just got better with this hire."
Weaver comes to College Hill from Villanova where he spent the last five seasons serving in various roles, most recently was the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for the Wildcats. Prior to arriving at Villanova, he spent the summer of 2019 as the Director of Baseball Operations and Baseball Analytics at Campbell. Weaver's first stint at Villanova came during the 2019 season when he was a volunteer assistant.
Weaver spent the 2018 season as the head coach at Hudson Valley Community College, taking his team to a 25-14 record and second place in the conference at 21-7, en route to a third-place finish at the 2018 NJCAA DIII Region III Baseball Championships. At Hudson Valley, he coached a region player of the year, an all-American and six all-conference players.
Before his time at Hudson Valley, Weaver was the Director of Player Development in 2017 and a graduate assistant at West Virginia in 2016, while completing his M.S. in sports science and education. Weaver is a native of Fort Plain, N.Y. and played college baseball at East Stroudsburg as a pitcher for four years, earning his bachelor's degree in 2015 in sport management.
