A.J. Miller '11 has announced that junior infielder
Matt Colella and senior pitcher
Trace Florio have been named captains for the 2026 season.

Trace Florio, have earned this honor through their dedication and leadership within the baseball program, as well as being great representations of what it looks like to be a student-athlete on and off the field at Lafayette College."
Colella started all 49 games for the Leopards, primarily playing at shortstop during the 2025 season. The Clifton, Va. native batted .258 in his sophomore campaign, recording 46 hits and driving in 28 runs for the Maroon and White. The Economics major has started 96 of the 98 games that the Leopards have played during his time on College Hill. As a freshman, Colella had hits 42 and 19 RBIs.
As a junior, Florio appeared in 13 games with 11 starts, tossing two complete games. The Norwalk, Conn. native pitched 60.1 innings with a 6.41 ERA and 56 strikeouts for the Lafayette Nine.The Economics major pitched a four-hit complete game against Lehigh, earning his first win of the season on March 29.
