EASTON, Pa. - Junior running back Kente Edwards collected Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week laurels, his third-straight week receiving the honor.
Edwards' dominance in the run game continued vs. Columbia in week four, when he scampered for 150 yards and three scores on 25 carries. Nationally, the Annandale, N.J. native ranks first in rushing yards (559) and rushing touchdowns (10). In addition, his 139.8 rushing yards per game and 8.5 yards per carry place Edwards second and third, respectively.
Friday night's 38-14 victory over Columbia marked the third straight week that Edwards has run for 100+ yards and three touchdowns, previously doing so against Stonehill (12-127, 3 TD) and Georgetown (19-255, 4 TD).
The Leopards (3-1) remain at Fisher Stadium for the second of four-consecutive home games, hosting Princeton on Saturday for Homecoming/Family Weekend and the start of the College's Bicentennial celebration. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
