313 Student-Athletes Earn PL Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll

Lafayette tallied a 3.48 student-athlete GPA

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette posted 313 student-athletes on the 2025-26 Patriot League Winter-Spring Academic Honor Roll, announced on Wednesday.

In the fall, 159 Leopards earned honor roll laurels (third-highest in the conference) and finished with a second-best 472 student-athletes on the yearly academic listing.

Lafayette surpassed its previous numbers from 2024-25 for winter-spring student-athletes. Last year, 283 student-athletes from winter-spring sports qualified for the honor roll, compared to 313 this year. The Maroon and White also saw an increase in total student-athletes earning laurels, with 472 (448 in 2024-25). In addition, the student-athlete GPA rose from 3.40 in 2024-25 to 3.48 this past academic year.

To be eligible for the winter-spring academic laurel, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20-grade point average (GPA) or better during the spring semester in which their league champion is crowned. The 15 sports included are baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, women's rowing and softball.

Bucknell led the conference with 376 student-athletes this semester and 569 total. Lafayette (472) surpassed rival Lehigh (471) for second and third place, respectively. Colgate (453) and Holy Cross (449) rounded out the top five institutions. Boston University (381) placed sixth, while Loyola Maryland (346) landed in seventh. Navy (336), American (251) and Army West Point (211) were also represented in the conference's end of year report.

Associate members Georgetown (87), Fordham (58), Richmond (34) and MIT (33) contributed to the league's 4,152 honorees.

Women's track and field paced the teams on College Hill with 53 selections, followed by women's swimming and diving (41), men's lacrosse (41) and women's lacrosse (37). Men's track and field had 34 honorees followed by baseball (25), men's swimming and diving (18), softball (16), women's basketball (11), men's basketball (11), men's tennis (10), golf (8) and women's tennis (8). 

In the spring, 304 student-athletes earned placement on the school's Dean's List, requiring a 3.6 GPA, while 80 student-athletes recorded 4.0 GPAs.
