EASTON, Pa. – Senior midfielder Nadia Zaffanella was named the Patriot League Women's Soccer Midfielder of the Week on Monday afternoon for her play in matches versus La Salle and Drexel.

The Ellington, Conn. native scored her first goal of the season in the 17th minute against La Salle, which gave Lafayette a 1-0 advantage. Zaffanella then scored her second goal of the year in the 71^st minute, which put Lafayette in front, 2-1. The goal was the 19th of her career, moving Zaffanella to fifth in all-time career goals, passing Jill Dozier (18).

In Lafayette's match against Drexel, Zaffanella played a full 90 minutes and was credited with the Leopards' only assist of the game on Lily Castle's goal in the 88^th minute.

This is Zaffanella's first Patriot League weekly award of the 2026 season, after previously being named the 2026 Patriot League Preseason Midfielder of the Year, a 2025 All-Patriot League First-Team selection and the 2023 Patriot League Rookie of the Year. The senior economics major has also earned numerous Patriot League Rookie of the Week and Patriot League Player of the Week selections during her time on College Hill.

Lafayette returns to action at 7 p.m. on Thursday, hosting Buffalo.
