Baseball's Rosenberg Named Patriot League Player of the Week

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette freshman Adam Rosenberg '04 (Ocean Grove, N.J./Neptune) was named the first Patriot League Player of the Week of the 2001 baseball season after going 9-for-12 (.750) with seven RBI in the Leopards' four games last week.

Rosenberg made an immediate impact for Lafayette, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI in his collegiate debut at Maryland-Eastern Shore. The outfielder's first hit was an RBI-single which extended an eight-run first inning for the Leopards en route to a 19-4 Lafayette rout.

The freshman followed up his stellar debut with a 2-for-2 showing that included a double and two RBI in the nightcap at Maryland-Eastern Shore, a 9-6 Lafayette win.

At Towson, Rosenberg went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the first game and followed that with a 2-for-4, two RBI outing in the second game, including his first career triple.

Lafayette opened the season with two straight wins over Maryland-Eastern Shore but dropped its next two to Towson to finish the week at 2-2. The Leopards continue their spring break road trip with a game vs. Youngstown State in Charleston, S.C., on Monday.
